Open Source Circular Economy Days In Hungary!

Open Source Circular Economy Days In Hungary!

This event is organised by the ECO TEAM of our National Fashion League Hungary supporting the initiatives of the Open Source Circular Economy Days 2015. The Forum is hosted by the RETEXTIL Foundation in Pécs in Hungary.

We invite a wide range of people, textile and clothing experts, professionals of waste treatment, recycling and processing, eco designers and creative people using recycled textile and fabrics. The participants will receive more information about the production of the acitvity of Retextil Foundation on spot. We will discuss about the different aspects of recycling and sustainability in textile and our „Team Hungary” at the the Open Source Circular Days 2015 platform will inform the participants about the Open Source Circular Economy’s concepts and we would like to encourage them to work together globally. We would like to use the Open Source Circular Days 2015 platform to share the creative, rethinking and innovative ideas of this event, hoping to get some new ideas from other countries/cities too. Our aim is to start to build up a global collaboration in any of the said issues.

We have found the best place to our event OSCEDAYS at RETEXTIL in Hungary.

Retextil is a community space created by the Retextil technology and method. Retextil is a complex system of production and employment applied to disabled people, and with recyclable materials creates community spaces and furnishing. It is a training, a technology that can be learnt at workshops where teachers, special education teachers and others who are interested in the method can be passed over. Retextil is a complex system of production and employment applied to disabled people, and with recyclable materials creates community spaces and furnishing.

Retextil is a method. It is a sort of sociotherapy where community work is being done by disabled people involving the Retextil technology. People can learn how to improve their skills and it also is a possibility for learning together in the community and learning the „community”. Retextil is a technique, a technology as well to make textile thread from waste-cloths by using old procedures like spinning, weaving and knotting and then we create new pieces of furniture and different types of personal articles. The Retextil technlology is a Hungarian invention. Retextil is a product of arts and crafts that materialises in furnishing, clothing and accessories. It also is a way of thinking that is ideal and clearly reacts to the problems of social and environmental challenges in the XXI. century.
