Ying Luo

Ying Luo, the founder of Anthyia, Inc., was born in China and went to work in a watch factory at age 16. While working she prepared at night and passed the most competitive test in China: the university entrance examination. This allowed her to attend the prestigious Xiamen university. After graduation she worked for three years in an import-export company specializing in arts and crafts.

In 1993 she went to the USA to obtain her master’s degree in international business at the American Graduate School for International Management, Phoenix, AZ. After graduation, she worked in the Silicon Valley for 16 years. As a manager for high-tech companies she oversaw outsourcing, product launches, marketing, procurement and many more.

After a long and successful career, Ying Luo found her true calling. She went back to her home town and started to research ramie while teaching international business at Nanchang University. TV stations invited her as a foreign expert and business publications offered her a forum to voice her views on ecological lifestyle.

In 2011 she launched Anthyia with the following announcement:

Ying Luo learned fashion design and created Anthyia’s collections which she successfully presented at several European trade shows. Anthyia, Inc. has cooperated with Chinese scientists as well as Chinese businesses to improve the quality of ramie. With the help of German and Italian experts, ramie is now produced in an environmentally sustainable way and with the most modern equipment available in the market.

Anthyia carefully selects fabric and yarn manufacturer’s and cooperates with them to bring more new natural fabrics to the eco fashion market. Anthyia supports designers, design schools and anyone interested in natural fibers who feels the curiosity what this magic material can deliver in the 21st century.
