Ying Luo, the founder of Anthyia, Inc., was born in China and went to work in a watch factory at age 16. While working she prepared at night and passed the most competitive test in China: the university entrance examination. This allowed her to attend the prestigious Xiamen university. After graduation she worked for three years in an import-export company specializing in arts and crafts.
In 1993 she went to the USA to obtain her master’s degree in international business at the American Graduate School for International Management, Phoenix, AZ. After graduation, she worked in the Silicon Valley for 16 years. As a manager for high-tech companies she oversaw outsourcing, product launches, marketing, procurement and many more.
After a long and successful career, Ying Luo found her true calling. She went back to her home town and started to research ramie while teaching international business at Nanchang University. TV stations invited her as a foreign expert and business publications offered her a forum to voice her views on ecological lifestyle.
