Ivett Buzgo joined our team during the organization of the 4th GSFW, where she volunteered as a key support staff and coordinator.
She was born in Slovakia, but has been living in Hungary since 2005. In 2017, she changed her IT career to pursue fashion and creative work. In 2018, she founded her own brand, La Gitanilla Flamenca, a collection of flamenco dance costumes that are individually designed and crafted in an environmentally conscious manner.
Ivett’s inspiration for La Gitanilla Flamenca comes from being a flamenco dancer herself, guided by the spirit of dance. Her love of sewing and adoration of unusual textiles has been nurtured since childhood, learning to appreciate the art of dressmaking from her mother, a professional dressmaker, with who she learnt her initial sewing skills as a young child, by regularly up-cycling old garments together. Up-cycling is still very much characteristic of her work, striving to keep a zero-waste workshop and honouring the cradle2cradle industry model.
